"DEEPAWALI", is one of my most favorite festivals. For me it
stands out as it's a cluster of festivities with the celebrations spread to 3-4
days. It starts with Dhanteras followed by chhoti diwali then Deepawali and
finally Bhai Duj. Moreover, it's the only festival where shopping is considered
auspicious!!!! Thus, armed with my wish list I welcome Deepawali with
breathtaking rangoli and mouthwatering sweets.
My wish list was indeed a huge one but then I reallocated lot of items to B'Day,
and Anniversary!!! I decided to celebrate dhanteras in an eco-friendly way, by
buying plants, especially herbal varieties and took care of the existing
ones. I think this is best way to seek Lord Dhanvantri's blessings (he is
the physician of gods).
We all know, Deepawali means "array of light" and to me the light
of the diyas, the rhythm of the prayers and the vibrations of the shlokas
evokes the feelings of chastity, devotion, honor, morality, strong
relationships, optimism, endless possibilities, and virtues.
